Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family and the benefits of community service. His first family is that his father was the youngest of nine kids who were raised by Eufala by Lucious Selmon. Second football he was the third brother who played for Oklahoma. Three brothers all made All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's best lineman. In his three years as an offensive lineman, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. Third scholarship he was named an National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon earned a diploma from the University of California at Berkeley. Lee Roy spent ten hours every week in volunteer work in his college days. After college, he moved in Tampa and played nine years for the Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro three times. Then he started his career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored his name in 1982, as one of the top 10 youngsters of the United States. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and was weighing 256 pounds. He coached his university team in 1975. In 1993, he was a part of his current position at University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame was named for him in 1998. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 gave their Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor, who presented this award.
