Sheryl Underwood, a American comedian and TV personality best known as the host on The Talk, a popular talk show on daytime television. Born in Arkansas she grew up at Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl is from a troubled family. Sheryl spent most of her youth taking care of her sister Frankie, who had polio. As a teenager, she was plagued by problems with her mom. Sheryl said that at one point her mother attacked one of the parents to her son due to the fact that she had been a little too close to her. Sheryl became a military officer after graduating from university. However her interest lay in comedy. She was the first woman to be a finalist in the contest Miller Lite Comedy Search held in 1989. Her TV career started in 1992, as a participant on the HBO comedy program Def Comedy Jam. The show was hosted by her Oh Drama! in 2000. Presently, she is a guest co-host for Talk Talk since 2011. In addition, she has a fictional role in popular shows such as Bulworth and Nikki as well as Beauty Shop.
