Amanda Blake

Amanda Blake, born as Beverly Louise Neill, was a popular American actress. Her most well-known role was her character, Miss Kitty Russell on the TV show "Gunsmoke.' Additionally, she was known for acting in the television series such as 'The Red Skelton Show', "Tattletales," and "The Edge of Night'. She also appeared in dozens of other films including Stars In My Crown, Duchess of Idaho,?Cattle Town Crusoe,?"About Mrs. Leslie",?The Adventures of Hajjibaba,??High Society? and The Boost What?. Blake She was working as a telephone operator, loved animals. She and her husband Frank Gilbert and she were among the first who successfully bred Cheetahs. She was a co-founder together with husband Frank Gilbert of Arizona Animal Welfare League. Blake was also a chairman of the board of directors for the Humane Society of the United States. Blake has received many honours and was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
